About the Role …

You will be required to work efficiently and cohesively within a team environment from Monday through Friday, performing a variety of farming duties, operating farming machinery and equipment, and truck driving when required.

There is an opportunity to progress into a 2IC position for the right individual who demonstrates excellent organisational, people and communication skills.

There may also be an opportunity for subsidised company-provided housing.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Earth moving, excavating, fencing, planting and harvesting, clearing, irrigation work, and all associated farming activities;
  • Truck Driving when required;
  • General plant and equipment maintenance and servicing.

About You …

You will:

  • Have experience with earth moving equipment, including laser bucket and GPS;
  • Have previous experience with a variety of farming duties;
  • Have a robust physical fitness level, with the ability to regularly complete highly physical tasks;
  • Have a “can do” attitude by working cooperatively and efficiently to meet daily production requirements in a small team;
  • Be accountable for the work completed;
  • Be able to work unsupervised;
  • Be reliable, and be flexible to work extra hours if and when required;
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills;
  • Participate in any relevant training to ensure on-going compliance with policies and procedures;
  • Have a current MC Truck Licence with relevant operational experience;
  • Ideally, you will have some basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to adequately inspect and troubleshoot your vehicles and equipment.

  • Sufficient literacy and numeracy skills;
  • A valid drivers licence and your own transport;

  • The ability to work in dirty or dusty environments, or work outside in all types of weather.

  • Perform transport duties in accordance with the established work schedules, including the requirement to work early mornings or late nights as necessary;

  • Ensure that loads are prepared, loaded and delivered safely and efficiently;

DA Hall & Co is a privately-owned agribusiness that operates one of the largest poultry farms in Australia.

We employ over 250 people across our farming operations based at Millmerran, an hour west of Toowoomba in Queensland. Our operations are vertically integrated, covering the entire supply chain from chick rearing, grain production, stock feed milling, egg grading and poultry production.   Our layer systems include Cage, Cage-free, Free Range and Organic.  We have in-house service teams which coordinate bird vaccination, bird relocation, veterinary and nutrition services.

About the Role …

You will be required to work efficiently and cohesively within a team environment on a rotating roster, ensuring the safe preparation of eggs for despatch on a fast-paced and highly automated production floor.

Key Responsibilities 

Work proactively with a team on a roster basis to provide 365-day coverage to:

  • Operate egg cleaning, grading, sorting and packing machinery and systems as required to ensure optimal production levels;
  • Perform all tasks safely and efficiently, and in accordance with established work practices and SOP’s;
  • Ensure all processes minimise waste and maximise productivity;
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment;
  • Participate in the training provided to ensure a high level of skill and knowledge of the tasks required;
  • Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety, quarantine and bio-security standards.

  • Sound physical fitness, with the ability to work extended shifts in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.
